Modern Warfare 3: How to Fix XP Tokens Not Working

Past issues still plague Activision as COD MW 3 launches with a broken XP token system.

The newest release is Sledgehammer Games’ work of art as fans are reintroduced to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Series. While the industry has changed and multiplayer is now the prime focus, there are still issues with the launch of the game as the MW3 XP token system seems to be bugged.

Issues with the release are more common now than before. However, it is concerning that there are still recurring issues. They also seem to have no reliable fix or solution until the developers themselves get involved.

Why are XP Tokens Not Working?

XP tokens are limited-time boosts that will aid you in leveling up certain areas of the game, from general XP to weapon XP or even the battle pass. Any tokens that you might have on your account in MW2 will carry over into MW3 as well.

Sledgehammer has yet to say anything about this issue, but players are facing it regardless. The same happened during the early days of Modern Warfare 2. This may be an issue with the system bringing forward the inventory from MW2 to MW3.

You might face the issue of the screen being stuck and your MW3 XP token showing to be redeemed without any confirmation or counter. You might be frustrated or concerned, as these tokens, if activated, will run out in real-time instead of in-game time.

How to Fix MW3 XP Tokens Not Working

Unfortunately, there aren’t that many things you can do to try and fix it. It is a known issue, and players from MW2’s start will also know that the issue persisted even then. The developers should be bringing out hotfixes so the issues don’t last.

Till then, the best you can do right now is to restart the game. Currently the MW3 servers are under a lot of pressure due to the surge of players, so restarting the game or maybe internet can help you get rid of the issue. If it still doesn’t work, it is likely from the server side and there’s nothing really you can do for now.

Outside of these, Activision should be on it to quickly fix and clean up any bugs that might remain in the game. If we find any workaround, we’ll be sure to update the article as soon as possible.
