(BOISE, Idaho) - Idaho Steelheads forward Mitch Wahl has been selected the CCM Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for November. He's the seventh Steelhead player to receive the monthly player award and first since Evan Barlow in January of 2011.
The 23-year-old posted 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) in just eleven games during November - he missed three games while on loan in the American Hockey League - and picked up at least one point in each game he played during the month. He had six multi-point games, including a two-goal outing against San Francisco on November 15.
For the season, Wahl is tied for eighth in the ECHL in scoring with 20 points. He leads the ECHL in power-play points (13) and power-play assists (10). He's in his fourth professional season after playing major-junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League. It's his first season with Idaho.
